David Peake Dip. counsellor

Approach

I am a Person Centred Counsellor.

Experience

I am a qualified and experienced counsellor who offers help to people who are suffering from the effects of anxiety, bereavement, depression, relationship difficulties, domestic violence, drug and alcohol dependency and eating disorders.

My special interest is in helping those whose history of childhood abuse and how that affects their ability to form open relationships with others, and to be able to trust any person of the opposite sex apart from their own children.

Confidentiality

I offer a safe, secure, and confidential environment in which my clients can explore their issues, work through their difficulties, come to terms with the past, live comfortably in the present, and make their own decisions about their future.

Breaking of confidentiality will only be breached in exceptional circumstances where as a counsellor; there are good grounds to believe that the client is at serious risk of causing harm to him/herself or others, or that children are at serious risk.

Good Working Practices

I work with clients on a one-to -one basis, or with couples as may be required. The number of sessions for therapy is determined by the clients needs and may be short term or long term as appropriate. I am fully insured and practice within the guidelines laid down by the B.A.C.P. code of conduct and ethics. In addition to this I receive regular ongoing supervision.
