Naeem Akhtar Dip. counsellor

Naeem trained in Person Centred Counselling but now prefers to use a more Eclectic approach, as he believes this gives greater flexibility to encounter problems as they arise.

For the past four years Naeem has worked with drug users of all ages promoting drug education and prevention.

Naeem has also worked with the Asian community developing groups of adolescents with a range of issues ranging from, drugs, racism, bullying cultural and religious.

Naeem believes strongly in motivational techniques hoping to inspire his clients to greater self-belief and self worth as a means to finding the inner resources to tackle issues for themselves.

Naeem is also an experienced outreach worker, which has given him the skill of talking to people from within their own experiential world.

I offer a safe, secure, and confidential environment in which my clients can explore their issues, work through their difficulties, come to terms with the past, live comfortably in the present, and make their own decisions about their future.

Breaking of confidentiality will only be breached in exceptional circumstances where as a counsellor; there are good grounds to believe that the client is at serious risk of causing harm to him/herself or others, or that children are at serious risk.

Good Working Practices

I have full Professional liability insurance. I also attend regular ongoing supervision.
