Rita Thompson Dip. counsellor

Approach

My work remains anchored in person centred counselling and is the basis of any work undertaken.

Experience

I trained as an Alternative Therapist and have been practising for over ten years. I then went onto to train as a Person Centred Counsellor at Salford College and on completion of my Diploma in Counselling I gained my diploma in Hypno-Psychotherapy. I have trained in both person centred and addiction counselling. I have also my City & Guilds in Teaching.

Confidentiality

I offer a safe, secure, and confidential environment in which my clients can explore their issues, work through their difficulties, come to terms with the past, live comfortably in the present, and make their own decisions about their future.

Breaking of confidentiality will only be breached in exceptional circumstances where as a counsellor; there are good grounds to believe that the client is at serious risk of causing harm to him/herself or others, or that children are at serious risk.

Good Working Practices

I undertake regular ongoing training to ensure Personal and Professional Development. I am a member of the National College of Hypnotherapy & Psychotherapy and am in regular supervision. I also have Professional Indemnity Insurance.
